------------------------------------------------------------------------
Opens:

- Arpad: BIRD 173 has been added to the agenda.

- Ambrish: I have a question about BIRD 169

- Fangyi: How many will attend the EMC conference next week?
- Todd: I will.
- Fangyi: Me too, should we still meet?
- We will meet next week.

New Discussion:

BIRD 169:

- Ambrish showed BIRD 169.
- Ambrish: Why was the portion I'm highlighting removed?
  - This BIRD will be voted on this week.
- Todd: It was redundant, it didn't add anything.

BIRD 173:

- Arpad showed and highlighted part of the agenda.
- Arpad: At Mentor we feel the specification should describe all matrix creation requirements.
  - We have talked about not overloading the parser, but we should spell out the requirements.
  - Not all of these would have to be checked by IBISCHK.
  - We would like to add some requirements.
- Walter: I would support that.
- Radek: It needs to be complete and carefully reviewed.
- Bob: We could request to have the rules in IBISCHK.

AR: Arpad work with Randy to update BIRD 173

BIRD 147:

- Ambrish showed BIRD 147 update draft 10.
- Ambrish: The new changes are in blue.
- Bob: We are using the term "backchannel instances".
  - A tree diagram was added.
  - The BCI branch is under Protocol_Specific.
  - Section numbers here are wrong, it will be under section 10 in the IBIS specification.
  - These are editorial, not functionality changes.
  - Bit_Pattern and LFSR_Seed are of Type Bits.
  - The pattern branches can be in any order.
- Ambrish: We will prefix approved BCI files with "IBIS_".
- Radek: Existing BCI files will be replaced?
- Ambrish: They will have to be discussed and approved.
- Bob: There should not be much detail in this BIRD about managing approval.
- Ambrish: The model will look for the BCI branch in the input string.
- Walter: Could we remove "extra" from "extra taps"?
- Ambrish: These are ones not required by a protocol.
- Bob: It should be "back-channel", not "backchannel".

- Mike: The "embellishments" sentence says other content is allowed, but only outside the BCI branch?
- Ambrish: Yes only content in the BCI branch has to follow this specification.
- Todd: This is headed toward proprietary model pairs.
- Bob: The official ones will begin with "IBIS_".
- Mike: Then unofficial BCI files must be disallowed from beginning with "IBIS_".
- Ambrish: The BIRD specifies that.
- Bob: This BIRD needs to specify that only the IBIS Open Forum can manage this.
  - It probably will be under a BCI directory on the server.
  - Also "IBIS_" should be lowercase "ibis_".
  - The last word "with" can be dropped from section 1.7.2 of this BIRD.

AR: Bob and Ambrish update BIRD 147

- Walter showed an email draft.
- Walter: Is this syntax correct?
- Bob: It needs to be "Protocol_Specific", not "Model_Specific".
- Walter: This gives an example of language to describe what is allowed in the strings.
  - We should explicitly say if this is allowed.
  - Also we should have rules about file names being lowercase.

- Ambrish: What will happen to the BIRD 128 changes?
- Arpad: We did not decide what the changes would be, but they will be made in BIRD 147.
  - We need to decide what changes are needed.
- Ambrish: If it's OK with Walter I'll work on that.
- Walter" That's OK.
- Radek: We have a rule requiring non-null root, but this InOut may need different rules.

AR: Ambrish examine BIRD 128 for possible BIRD 147 updates.
